I’ve begun work on Kaiou 7.6, finally after quite a bit of time.
The first thing I’m working on is adding the (long-needed) Monster Types. Basically monster types will act as templates for your newly created monsters. Let’s say you want to make a Dragon. You could, of course, create your dragon and then set everything manually (all the techs, skills, resistances, etc). But if you wanted to save some time you could use a pre-made template for Dragons that comes with some basic Dragon-like techs and skills, plus natural armor and resistances/weaknesses/etc and then add your own stuff to it afterwards.
This is just a quick update to the site to let people know that the Kaiou Updater has been updated to version 1.0.2. It should be working again, for the the very few people left who still use it.

Picture this scene. The heroes have chased the alien invader who is threatening to destroy Earth back to his ship. They enter the ship and find him in a strange room. The alien begins to laugh and the room glows and sucks out the ability for the heroes to use their boosts and items. A battle begins with those conditions applied.
Hard to imagine that such a thing is possible in Kaiou. Up until version 7.5c it WAS impossible (except for, perhaps, the honor system between players and DMs). Not any more though! Now the DM who started the battle can tell the bot that this battle will not allow boosting and items to be used.
I’m currently working on Kaiou 7.5c. This time it will be a bit slower of a release, so don’t expect this one for a little while longer. I just thought I’d post a preview post showing a few things that are in the works.

I ended up finding some bugs since the last release and wanted to fix them. While I was doing that I went ahead and rewrote the way accuracy works in the bot. Be sure to check out accuracy.txt inside the documentation folder for more information. Full changelog below the jump.

Version 7.5 has been released!
As silly as it may seem, I am in the middle of working on a new version update for Kaiou!
As it stands, the main focus this update seems to be adding more skills. I feel like skills have been neglected over the years and only in recent updates have they really started getting the attention they deserve. I also added the “natural armor” idea that I was thinking of a few months ago to monsters. The natural armor (which can be named whatever you want per monster) will absorb damage and must be “broken” before the monster takes HP.
So I just thought I’d make a quick update to say that it’s on the way. Expect it soon! And if you’re curious as to how progress is going, and more indepth of what I’ve been adding/changing, come visit the topic on the board (check page 5 for info on this update).
