Worldometers - real time world statistics
Did you know 593,501 new books have been published already this year? Or how about that 1.18 billion liters of water have been consumed this year? Don't worry, Worldometer will help fill you in on all sorts of crazy statistics.
I find this site fascinating to look at every now and then throughout the year just to see what's going on. Some of the stats seem way too insane to be true (look at the energy section, as an example).
