I know 2017 is already half over at this point and that I really should have created this topic at the start of the year..but whatever.  I'm doing it now.  Live with it.  :XD:

http://backloggery.com/ is a free site where you can keep track of all your games and mark them off as beaten and/or completed when you finish them.  Using this site has helped me realize that I have soooooo many unfinished games.  Every so often I like to make a thread here where I attempt to get that number back under control.  It usually fails, of course, because there's so many good games coming out and I just don't have the time like I used to, but it's always fun to try.

First Backloggery Thread

Backloggery 2014: The Revenge

I figure this thread can serve for 2017 and maybe 2018 too (or just keep going til it gets too long).

I'll start posting the games I've beaten for 2017 in the next post.

My goal for 2017 was to get my backloggery under 100.  Seeing as how I'm sitting at 160 it appears that I've gone entirely in the wrong direction.  Having said that, I have beaten a huge number (relative) of games this year compared to most.  I'll list the ones I've beaten so far below:

PS3

Tales of Monkey Island Chapter 3 - Lair of the Leviathan

Tales of Monkey Island Chapter 4 - The Trial and Execution of Guybrush Threepwood

Tales of Monkey Island Chapter 5 - Rise of the Pirate God

Back to the Future Episode 1: It's About Time

Back to the Future Episode 2: Get Tannen!

Back to the Future Episode 3: Citizen Brown

Back to the Future Episode 4: Double Visions

Back to the Future Episode 5: Outatime

No More Heroes: Heroes' Paradise

PS4

Final Fantasy XV

Day of the Tentacle Remastered

DmC: Devil May Cry Definitive Edition

Rogue Legacy

Game of Thrones Episode 1: Iron From Ice

Game of Thrones Episode 2: The Lost Lords

Game of Thrones Episode 3: The Sword in the Darkness

Game of Thrones Episode 4: Sons of Winter

Game of Thrones Episode 5: A Nest of Vipers

Game of Thrones Episode 6: The Ice Dragon

Diablo III Ultimate Evil Edition

Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3

Devil May Cry 4 Special Edition

Tales from the Borderlands Episode 1: Zer0 Sum

Marvel Heroes Omega

PC

FFXIV: Stormblood (the story)

As I said in the currently playing thread my next goal is to beat Lego Marvel Super Heroes as Lego games are usually pretty easy (just long).  I should probably also work on the rest of the Tales from the Borderlands game as Telltale games are easy too (just need a few hours per episode).

As I mentioned on the currently playing topic, I did beat the Lego Marvel Super Heroes game.  As much as I'd like to go for more trophies from it/possibly going for platinum (at least up to where I would need two controllers) I feel like it would just be too time consuming right now.  So now I'm trying to determine which game I should work on next.

I may keep the Lego game train rolling and start working on the two Lego Harry Potter games. But first I may work on the rest of the Tales from the Borderlands games.  Those typically take about an hour, maybe hour and a half, each and there's 4 more parts. So 4-6 hours to be done with that one.

As for Backloggery I went through and marked a few games as null (ones that I either don't have access to any more or know that I'll never be going back to) and that, with beating the Lego game, drops me to 156 unbeaten games.

haha I need to update/work on my backloggery. I feel it is a nigh impossible task given all the games I have.

So I forgot that I had started and nearly finished Chrono Trigger on the DS.  I had just finished saving Crono and was basically at the last portion of the game.  Decided to pop it on and play through the last little bit.  Got the Rainbow Sword and then went and beat Lavos.  Chalk this one up as beaten.  Though now there's additional stuff that was only available in the DS version but I don't know if I'll go try all that out or not lol.

As for being fully up to date and all... it is for the consoles.  I don't know about Steam/Origin/GOG since those constantly gave me free games and Humble Bundle caused me to add a bunch to Steam.  I guess I should check one day and get those lists fully up to date... but for consoles I know it is lol.

-Edit-

Except for PS+ games lol.  Oops.  I always forget to add the PS+ games to the backloggery.  Though 99% of the time I never play any of them so I don't know if I should even add them lol.

2017 is basically over at this point.  For me it is very unlikely that I will be beating any other games this year so here's my final stats (according to Backloggery).

In 2017 I've added 30 new games.  I've beaten 32 games (I marked 9 as beat and 23 as complete).  So for 2017 I've knocked off 2 total things from the backloggery count.

As it stands, I have 156 unbeaten games, 146 beaten and 85 complete (for a total of 231 games that I've considered beaten/done with).  Still 40% of my games are unfinished.

I still haven't added all the free PS+ games and free Steam/GOG games that I've gotten.  At this point I don't know if I ever will (99% of them will remain undownloaded).  I usually only add the games that I actually buy the disc of or download to the machine and try at least once.  I imagine my unbeaten game list would be much, much higher otherwise lol.

I would say I hope I beat more in 2018 but I imagine much of my time will be spent playing just a handful of games rather than actively trying to beat stuff.  Still, we'll see.
