So Hulu has started throwing out random anime here and there.. figured I'd start reviewing them..
here we go...

Lagrange: The Flower of Rin-Ne

Ooook.. so normally, this type of anime is not what I watch. In fact the only thing that kept me watching the first (and only as of this writing) episode was the very sleek and serious look to the show. It's very odd (well at least to us.. in japan its sub par probably.) to say the least.. Think Sailor Moon meets evangelion... High school girls piloting giant robots.. yeah.. I was in it for the giant robots. All in all it really wasn't too terrible. It SCREAMS Eva rip off, tho, which to me is intriguing (as I'm hoping it will turn into a giant mindf***, like Eva did.) The similarities are everywhere. The high school girl cutey ness of it is almost enough to make me turn away from it entirely... The robots are meh, but interesting, and if it weren't for the robot fighting and the superb animation, I'd probably not bother anymore.. however, I think I'll watch a few more eps of this and see where it goes.. Oh and its full of fan service via always stripping and weird poking moments that are a bit awkward..

:| for now..

Oook.. So I was going to watch Un-Go, next, but this one caught my eye.. It just seemed way out there.. Kinda like Yakitate Japan.
So the main character looks like a reject from Fist of the North Star, and the whole premise of the show is hunting rare animals to make tasty dishes of them. Lol its rather ridiculous, but its anime... It has quite possibly one of the most annoying opening songs in anime history (posted just for you, because I care) and watching it is interesting even if the main character makes your eyes bleed. (he has a freakin energy fork and knife.. lol)The show itself seems sort of dragon ball inspired, with a bit of Yakitate flavor. It has all the same kind of plot elements as Dragon Ball, crazy guy in orange beats down crazy scary animals without blinking an eye, He eats like crazy, and he's very very strong. Turns out he's part of some organization that we won't learn about til later on, and normal people can't believe how awesome he is..

Its crazy.. its interesting.. and if you can get past all the weird, and you don't mind a bit of one trick pony story telling for the first several eps, then give it a shot. Otherwise, give it the strange look it deserves and skip it. As for me, I'll watch a few more eps to see how it plays out.

Lets talk about anime openings for a bit.. To me the perfect anime opening shows you why you want to watch this show, lets you in on a smidgeon of the plot, shows you some of the cool things you will see later, and gives you a cool little J-song that fits the show appropriately. This opening does that, but the song.. OMG the song.. it just makes you go WTF.. It is so distracting that you really can't pay attention to much else, but when you do, you kind of just go OMG some more, because it is freakin' weird.

I want to give this a WTF rating, but you watch a couple of eps and you realize you've seen it before just done a little differently here. So for that it gets a :-| the opening gets a :zomg:

Club You To Death Angel Dokuro Chan

Yeah, not on hulu, but I wish it was.. I saw an episode of this a long time ago with (never on the board) Darkan/Jared. Man it was great. If you like Excel or Puni Puni Poemi, then this is for you. Awesomeness.. (as seen in this opening) Hilarious and great.

:headphones: (because I can't think of a better emoticon)

Watch the DMC anime and let me know if it's worth investing time to watch. :XD:

Looks like the first episode (and possibly others) are available on FUNimation's official youtube for free! Hooray!

I watched it, I enjoyed it. There's no real overarching story, its pretty much by episode til you get to the last few. It was pretty enjoyable.
