[Iyouboushi]

Bleach is a manga series by Tite Kubo, the mangaka of Zombie Powder. It follows the life of Ichigo Kurosaki, a 15-year-old high school student with the ability to see ghosts, and a shinigami ("death god") named Rukia Kuchiki, who crosses paths with him one day while searching for a hollow (an evil spirit). During the ensuing confrontation with the spirit, she is wounded and forced to transfer virtually all of her powers into Ichigo. Thus the adventures of Ichigo and Rukia begin. Together they search for hollows and perform soul burials on wayward souls, cleansing the spirits and sending them to Soul Society. The early parts of the story focus mainly on the characters and their past, rather than the actual occupation of the shinigami. However, as events unfold, the story begins to delve deeper into the world of these shinigamis on the "other side" called Soul Society.

Now then..

 

Five weeks ago Kubo took time off from Bleach so that he could deliver the best story that he possibly could. For five weeks speculation has run wild and we've all wondered what would happen when it came back. Well, with chapter 547 Bleach is back in Shounen Jump and it's..............exactly the same as before the break. We waited five weeks for this!?

A rather lackluster chapter for me considering that we waited 5 weeks for it. However, we do learn a few things that were at least somewhat interesting..

* It seems like Hitsugaya is able to use his ice again even though earlier he said he couldn't hear his sword at all. Either Kubo forgot, Urahara did something off-screen, or he's changed his mind about shikai being gone as well when bankai is stolen.

 

* The Quincy's base IS in Seireitei just on a different dimension, I guess. I wonder if the Quincy could watch the Shinigami. I can only imagine Juuha walking around Yamamoto's office messing with stuff when he isn't looking.

 

* Mayuri, as usual, is insane..and a jerk. I love how he figured out the secret of the Quincy's sneak attack but didn't bother to share it with anyone and only used it to protect his lab.

 

The full spread colored page of Ichigo in front of all the characters was nice at least.

Another slow chapter. And gee, look at that. The guy who stole his captain's bankai is going to fight him. And the fire guy is going to fight the ice midget. WHAT ARE THE ODDS!?

 

 

Although I will say, I do enjoy Hitsugaya and Matsumoto teaming up to fight the guy, combining their powers. Tactical fights are always more interesting than the straight out brute MY POWER LEVEL IS HIGHER ones.

Yeah, that is nice to see actual teamwork instead of the usual thing. Though why am I not surprised the character the fangirls/fanboys like the most will probably win just fine? XD As for Oomaeda, I wonder if that Quincy will use Soifon's rocket launcher bankai against him and wipe out a huge area of Soul Society. lol

Bleach Chapter 549: [MangaStream] [Unix]

Several Shinigami cheer when Hitsugaya successfully deals a blow to Bazz-B.

 

Meanwhile, Ōmaeda is launched into a wall by BG9, who reiterates its question about Suì-Fēng's location for the third time. Ōmaeda again claims he doesn't know, before lecturing the Stern Ritter that he wouldn't have willingly divulged the information had he known. BG9 changes tactics and extends one of its tentacles through a nearby wall before raising it up. As Ōmaeda questions its actions, he notices that BG9 has impaled his younger sister. BG9 states that it detects other people similar to Ōmaeda in the area, and will kill them all if Ōmaeda doesn't cooperate. However, Ōmaeda in a rage attacks BG9. The Stern Ritter dismisses his inability to answer as shock, giving him 15 seconds to reply. Ōmaeda ignores this and presses the attack, but BG9 pins him up against a wall. It then takes out a mini-gun, but before it can fire, it notices the gun was destroyed.

 

A voice calls out taunting the Stern Ritter, and Suì-Fēng drops the broken piece of the mini-gun. BG9 questions how she could attack it without being detected, to which Suì-Fēng retorts that as the Onmitsukidō's commander, she knows how to hide her Reiatsu. Responding to BG9's question on her appearance, Suì-Fēng states that the technique she used was Shunkō, but BG9 questions this as it was supposed to be incomplete. Suì-Fēng asks if the Stern Ritter really expected her to not perfect the technique after it stole her Bankai. Suì-Fēng explains how she perfected Shunkō, and thanks BG9, before blasting it with her improved technique.

 

Elsewhere, Hitsugaya and Rangiku turn to leave. To their shock, however, Bazz-B gets up and asks why they would leave the "preliminary test." He then states that he has yet to begin to fight. At Suì-Fēng's location, BG9 also gets back up, eyes glowing.

 

This actually came out yesterday, but just now posting about it today.

 

And in typical Shounen style, their attacks have no effect! Ugh. Oh, hey, Soifon. You finally mastered Shunko? Guess what? It doesn't matter, you're still apparently useless! lol

Yeah. I really don't know why Kubo took five weeks off then. You would expect him to come up with something better in a five week hiatus. Instead it's literally the same stuff we've had before... lolshounen.

 

I only read Bleach to see how it ends. I've invested too much time to just give up on it now. But believe me, if I wasn't this invested I probably would've dropped it a while ago.

Although at this point we should be glad it hasn't been canceled yet like Zombie Powder or whatever. It's not like Bleach is up there in the top 3 any more.

I stopped caring about Bleach a long while ago.. but yeah I'm curious to see how it ends too.
