Discovering the He-Man fan made films has made me realize we don't have a fan film topic here on the board yet. So let's fix that, shall we?
FAN FILMS are videos (movie, trailer or tv episode length) made by fans starring non-original characters. In other words, a fan enjoys a series and decides to make a movie based in that world or using those characters.
To be honest, I haven't been paying any bit of attention to fan films lately so I honestly don't know if there's any new ones that are really good. Having said that, here's a few from the past that I seem to remember enjoying back then:
Freddy vs the Ghostbusters
In this fan film, the Denver division of the Ghostbusters must put an end to Freddy Krueger. I seem to remember this one being really well done (the effects are very true to their 80's movie counterparts). The actual plot is a little cheesy but otherwise it's okay.
Fluffy the English Vampire Slayer
A nice tribute to Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Again, this is one that I remembered liking back in the day. I haven't seen it in a while though so don't hate on me if it turns out to be awful these days.
Matrix XP
A short spoof of The Matrix that came out before the second Matrix movie did.
Star Wars Episode III: A Lost Hope
A silly trailer made to parody Episode III.
Fanfilms.net has a ton of links to various fan films from all sorts of different series. If anyone is brave enough to watch some, feel free to come back and talk about them here.
