Welp. I forgot to come back and update this thread lol. We have been keeping up with Marvel Mondays though...and since the last time I posted we watched Iron Man 2 and Thor.
Iron Man 2 remains, to me, one of the weakest of the Marvel entries of this series of movies. Everything I wrote in the review section back in 2010 still stands for me, only now I really like the current (then: new) Rhody a whole lot more (back then I liked the old one better lol. Funny how time changes that). But everything else is still spot-on for me. So instead of recapping it all here, I'll just say go read the old review if you're curious.
Then came the first Thor movie. I think time has been pretty good to this one. It's still entertaining and I like seeing Thor go from a super cocky brat to a much wiser and caring person by the end. What I don't like is the time it takes for his arc to complete. This entire movie takes place in like 72 hours or something ridiculous like that. So he goes from super cocky to falling in love with an earth woman to regaining his worthiness in the span of a weekend. What? This kind of arc should have taken at least a month. Would it have really killed the momentum of the film if it had been obvious that Thor had been living with Jane and friends for a month before Loki sent the destroyer down? I say no and it would have helped the film a bit.
But whatever. Overall, it's not bad. I like it.
This week is Avengers. I've seen this one so many times and it never gets old.
