FINAL FANTASY IV ADVANCE
Fabul (incomplete)
The group makes their way to Hobsu no Yama Nishi Guchi (Mt. Hobs West Opening). The path on Mt. Hobs is blocked, just as Gilbert mentioned. As they approach, Rosa steps ahead, examines the ice and turns back.
ROSA
“Rydia, chant the spell for fire.”
RYDIA
“….”
GILBERT
“Rydia?”
ROSA
“you can certainly do it!”
RYDIA
“….no.”
ROSA
“?”
RYDIA
“I hate fire!”
CECIL
“I see.. with the fire from the bomb ring Mist was [destroyed]…”
ROSA
“Rydia, right now you’re the only one who has the power to melt this ice.”
RYDIA
“….”
ROSA
“If the ice isn’t melted, we won’t be able to go to Fabul and many more people will suffer terrible things. Please, show your courage.”
GILBERT
“courage..”
ROSA
“Rydia, please!”
GILBERT
“Rydia, I beg you!”
CECIL
“….”
RYDIA
“…. ….. .”
Rydia, finding some courage, walks up towards the ice..
RYDIA
“Fire!”
She’s successful and the ice melts.
Rydia has obtained/learned “Fire”!
GILBERT
“Amazing, Rydia!”
RYDIA
Tee-hee
ROSA
“Thank you Rydia!”
CECIL
“Rydia…”
With the ice out the way, the party makes their way up and across the mountain. As they reach the top, they witness an incident..
CECIL
“that is..?
A monk is partially surrounded by monsters.
GILBERT
“Those clothes are those of a monk priest from Fabul!”
MONK PRIEST
“Haaaa!”
The monk quickly defeats two of the monsters.
MONK PRIEST
“Haaaa!”
He quickly finishes off the remaining three cloaked monsters, leaving only a bomb.
GILBERT
“That one will be tough!”
RYDIA
“Let’s help him!”
The group rushes to the monk’s aid and the bomb is quickly defeated.
MONK PRIEST
“this place is dangerous, I’m grateful you came along. I am the chief of the priest monks, Yan. We came to Mt. Hobs to train when we were attacked by a crowd of monsters. I alone escaped death {literally annihilation} thanks to your help.”
CECIL
“The fact is, we were already on our way to Fabul.”
ROSA
“A man called Golbeza has been using Baron to get the crystals..”
YAN
“So that means he’s after Fabul’s Wind Crystal too!”
GILBERT
“yes.. Damcyan’s crystal has already been taken.”
CECIL
“He has his eyes set on Fabul next.”
YAN
“! …what a thing to say. The main fighting group of monks has been annihilated. The only people who remain in the castle are those who are not well trained. Right now, we would be helpless against an invasion.”
ROSA
“perhaps those monsters were sent by Golbeza.”
YAN
“to kill us and make us defenseless!?”
CECIL
“If Fabul is defenseless then they are already on their way! We would like to help! Let’s hurry to Fabul!”
YAN
“But I can’t let you get involved..”
CECIL
“This is also our fight!”
GILBERT
“I am the prince of Damcyan.”
CECIL
“Rosa and I are from Baron. Also, this girl and I… were both fooled by the king of Baron..”
RYDIA

YAN

YAN
“After we cross this place, Fabul is east of the mountain. Now, let’s hurry!”
Monk Priest Yan has become your companion!
The party makes their way across the mountain and across the map until they reach Fabul jou (Fabul Castle). Upon arriving, they decide to talk to the guards.
GUARDS
“Lord Yan! You’ve returned? The king is waiting for you.”
While exploring the castle, in the left tower, they find a white mage.
WHITE MAGE
“this is the military discharge nursing room.” (that is, an infirmary)
And a woman (Yan’s wife).
WOMAN
“oh? welcome home!”
YAN
“This is my wife. This is Cecil-dono. He saved me from danger.”
YAN’S WIFE
“I thank him then! By the way dear, are you still selling oil here? [** a way of saying “are you still wasting time?”]
While exploring the other tower they come across some monks.
MONK 1 & 2 (at the table)
“There was a surprise attack on Hobs right!? Are you okay?”
MONK IN BED
“I’m not sleeping, I’m meditating!”
KID
“Master Yan! Hurry and use your kick to triumph over the bad guys!”
WOMAN (at the bar)
“If we have a relationship with the castle, then there’s no reason to be concerned! It is because of the lord monks.” [** That’s what she says!! I think she probably meant “if we’re inside the castle” or “if we belong to the castle]
BARTENDER
“Lord Yan, you’ve returned from your training?”
DANCER
“Will you watch my dance?”
-> yes
(the dancer turns into a monk)
CECIL
“Geeeh!”
DANCER MONK
“Haaa!” (repeat 3 times)
-> no
DANCER
“you’re a cruel person… teasing me like that!”
In the top room of the tower is the King’s bedroom, and a woman.
WOMAN
“This is His Majesty’s bedroom!”
With Fabul explored, the group goes to the throne room….
