Woke up this morning to find out that Google has erased my youtube account. So all my videos (some of which I may not be able to get back), my subscriptions, my playlists and favorites are all gone. Not amused.
Apparently it was due to a copyright violation from Sony Music Japan International Inc. It was on a video that I had uploaded a good year or so ago. It was the Rurouni Kenshin SeisouHen trailer that I had downloaded from the Kenshin website back in 2001 or 2002. The quality of the thing was awful (the entire resolution was probably smaller than the palm of my hand) but I didn’t see it anywhere on youtube so I thought that I’d upload it and share it with the world (since I am known online as being the Rurouni Kenshin guy). Guess now I know why it’s nowhere to be found online any more.
Nothing I can do about it. In fact this might even be a good thing. Not a good thing that I lost all the messages, subscriptions (most of which I can’t remember) and favorites (I had so many favorites, ugh) but a good thing in that I can finally create new channels and separate my stuff. I’ve already done so, in fact.
youtube.com/
jmp1139 <– going to be where I keep my favorites and subscriptions now. Won’t have any videos.
iyouTV <– going to hold my skits/sketches/real life stuff (like the 25 questions and fireworks video)
iyouGames <– will hold the gaming videos/let’s play stuff I do.
If my videos don’t fit into one of those categories it’s not going back up online. So goodbye Tekkaman Blade opening video. Goodbye pretty much anything anime related..
Sucks to have to try and maintain three freakin accounts but at least this way if Google decides to axe one of them I won’t lose EVERYTHING all at once with absolutely nothing I can do about it.
As of right now, though, there’s no videos added to any of the channels. Because of this the video links around the site are broken. I’ll do my best to get them back up when I have time.
