Hello world! It’s been around six months since the last time I posted anything to this website. I just thought I’d drop by to let the random stranger who happens to stumble upon this website that I’m not quite dead yet.

In fact, I’ve been busy working on Battle Arena and version 3.0 is nearing completion. Look forward to that soon if you’re interested in such things. I’m also going to eventually make some more videos testing a few newer ghost hunting apps. Are they real? Am I insane for even entertaining that possibility? Find out soon!

Soooo.. yeah. Until next time!

Posted by Iyouboushi on July - 5 - 2014 Comments Off on Battle Arena 2.5 Coming Soon!

Hello everyone!

I know it’s been since February since I last posted any news about Battle Arena here on the main site but I just wanted to quickly say that I’ve been working hard on 2.5 and it’s nearing completion.  I’m aiming to have it done by the end of July.

The version was initially going to be a short patch to fix a few things that had come up since 2.4’s release but I had an explosion of ideas for the game and now it’s grown to be a rather large patch.  Hopefully everyone will like it when it comes out.

As always, you can follow the progress and check out early betas by going on over to the forum.  If that doesn’t interest you, keep an eye here for the release soon.

Posted by Iyouboushi on March - 21 - 2013 Comments Off on Ultimate RK FAQ Version 3.0.1

This is just a very quick post to say that The Ultimate Rurouni Kenshin FAQ is not dead nor forgotten.  I’ve just been neglecting it a bit.  In any case, version 3.0.1 has been released after nearly a full year of inactivity!

This version adds a small amount of information on the Shin Kyoto-Hen OAV and a few minor questions on the live action film.

Posted by Iyouboushi on December - 12 - 2012 Comments Off on Looking Towards the Future?

So the year 2012 is almost at an end.  As I sit here, I’m thinking about the future of this website.  Lately it seems like I just haven’t had much urge to update it like I used to in the past.  Honestly, I’m not really sure what to do with it.

I think I would like to start some kind of show on Youtube.  Possibly a weekly or monthly show, then use this website to help promote it (not that this site gets a lot of views, but regardless..).  I’m just not really sure what kind of show I’d like to do or if I have the time and energy to do it.  Should it be an LP of some games?  Should it be a return of the Clueless Hat Guy trying to play games (and failing)?  Should it be some kind of review show?  Or sketches/comedy?  Or a mix of all the above?  I can’t decide..

Of course the site will continue to be home to my programs.  And speaking of, Battle Arena 1.5 is in the works and is pretty close to being finished and released.  Those of you out there using it will probably enjoy the update (if you haven’t already gotten the beta version from the forum).  As usual it’ll add a lot of new stuff and fix some major bugs that have popped up since the last release.  Beyond Battle Arena, I’m afraid that none of my other programs have been touched in some time.  As much as I’d like to update Kon or Kaiou, Battle Arena has just been easier for me to work on lately (motivation! hooray!).

Anyway, this was just a quick update to let the world know I’m not dead but rather just haven’t really had much to say/post about here on the site.  Hopefully that’ll change in 2013.

So it has come to my attention that some lame script kiddies decided to deface my website. While this doesn’t say too many positive things about WordPress’ security, it says even less about the idiots who exploit it. I mean, really. What does anyone gain by turning Iyouboushi.com into a “LOLOL I HACKED UR SITE D00D!” page advertising their group? Are we really impressed that you took down my personal website that only hosts a few translations and programs I’ve made? Have you really accomplished anything aside from making me waste a whopping ten minutes to get it all back up online (and backed up)? People need to get lives that don’t involve pretending to be oh so l337 just because they can run a few scripts.

In other news, Kaiou 7.6 is just about done. I don’t know if you’ve been following the news over on the forum or not, but this is going to be a pretty decent version of the bot. I’ve still got a little bit left to add and then it’ll be time to test a bunch of stuff to make sure everything is working OK. Once I’m satisfied that there aren’t any major bugs, I’ll zip it up and get it up for everyone to download and enjoy. I’m hoping it’ll be done by the end of March, but don’t hold me to it. :)

So yeah, that’s about all the updates from me for now. Stay tuned for more!

Posted by Iyouboushi on February - 17 - 2012 Comments Off on Work on Kaiou 7.6 Has Begun

I’ve begun work on Kaiou 7.6, finally after quite a bit of time.

The first thing I’m working on is adding the (long-needed) Monster Types. Basically monster types will act as templates for your newly created monsters. Let’s say you want to make a Dragon. You could, of course, create your dragon and then set everything manually (all the techs, skills, resistances, etc). But if you wanted to save some time you could use a pre-made template for Dragons that comes with some basic Dragon-like techs and skills, plus natural armor and resistances/weaknesses/etc and then add your own stuff to it afterwards.

Posted by Iyouboushi on April - 20 - 2011 Comments Off on Youtube is Really Getting On My Nerves!

Edit: The account has since been restored. Still no information as to why it was removed to begin with though.

Youtube is really starting to get on my last nerves.

As some of you may know, Breezieana and I have a joint channel set up. On this channel we post videos that we do together–usually tag questions or our trips to Dothan and Friday Fest. This morning I woke up and was going to go check on that joint channel and found that Youtube had removed the channel.

Why?

Woke up this morning to find out that Google has erased my youtube account. So all my videos (some of which I may not be able to get back), my subscriptions, my playlists and favorites are all gone. Not amused.

Apparently it was due to a copyright violation from Sony Music Japan International Inc. It was on a video that I had uploaded a good year or so ago. It was the Rurouni Kenshin SeisouHen trailer that I had downloaded from the Kenshin website back in 2001 or 2002. The quality of the thing was awful (the entire resolution was probably smaller than the palm of my hand) but I didn’t see it anywhere on youtube so I thought that I’d upload it and share it with the world (since I am known online as being the Rurouni Kenshin guy). Guess now I know why it’s nowhere to be found online any more.

Nothing I can do about it. In fact this might even be a good thing. Not a good thing that I lost all the messages, subscriptions (most of which I can’t remember) and favorites (I had so many favorites, ugh) but a good thing in that I can finally create new channels and separate my stuff. I’ve already done so, in fact.

youtube.com/
jmp1139 <– going to be where I keep my favorites and subscriptions now. Won’t have any videos.
iyouTV <– going to hold my skits/sketches/real life stuff (like the 25 questions and fireworks video)
iyouGames <– will hold the gaming videos/let’s play stuff I do.

If my videos don’t fit into one of those categories it’s not going back up online. So goodbye Tekkaman Blade opening video. Goodbye pretty much anything anime related..

Sucks to have to try and maintain three freakin accounts but at least this way if Google decides to axe one of them I won’t lose EVERYTHING all at once with absolutely nothing I can do about it.

As of right now, though, there’s no videos added to any of the channels. Because of this the video links around the site are broken. I’ll do my best to get them back up when I have time.

Posted by Iyouboushi on June - 28 - 2010 Comments Off on A Few Changes

I’ve made a few minor changes to the website here. First you might notice that the “writing” section is no longer under the project section. This is pretty much due to the fact that this layout has a minor glitch if your pages go too many steps under one another. Unfortunately the novels section is too many steps and made it pretty much inaccessible.

Second, the reviews is also standing alone now on the main menu bar. Why? Well, why not?

Third, About the Site was updated to show a picture of the previous layout.

And finally, I added a page for my FFXI Blog. Right now it just contains a link to the blog but in the future I am considering adding some content here to this site for it.

Hey everyone! As you can probably tell I’ve gone and changed the website look again. I’m still working on some parts of it, such as the featured content, but hopefully it’ll be done soon.

In the meantime, I went ahead and added a new picture gallery: Pictures of Bri & I. I also added a few pictures to the 2010 gallery. Hooray!

And that’s it for this quick update!
